DoshHero is a free budgeting and money-education site. We keep the info you give us so the product works: account, budget and net worth numbers, and newsletter signup. We don’t sell your email or your money numbers. This page explains what we collect, why, cookies, and your choices.
This is a plain-English policy for the site, not legal advice for your situation.
Who we are
DoshHero runs at doshhero.com (and www). Contact: see Contact. Terms of use: Terms.
What we collect
Account
When you sign up we ask for things like name, email, date of birth, and country/state so we can tailor content and keep the service working. You confirm your email before the member area opens. If you change email, we re-verify.
Budget & net worth
The numbers you type (income, bills, savings, assets, debts, goals, spreadsheet imports, and so on) stay with your account so you can come back. They’re yours. You can delete your account from Account. That permanently removes account details and budgeting data.
Dosh Drop (newsletter)
After you confirm your email as a member, we add that inbox to Dosh Drop automatically (same list as the homepage form). Disclosed at signup / in terms. Tagged as a DoshHero member. You can unsubscribe on any email. We don’t sell your address. Sending is handled with our email provider (Beehiiv).
Messages you send us
If you use the Contact form, we keep your name, reply email, and message so we can reply and improve the product. There is no public email address on that page.
Technical basics
Like most sites, our hosting and security tools may see IP address, browser type, pages loaded, and similar logs to keep the site up, safe, and fast. We use Vercel to host the site.
Cookies and similar tech
Cookies are small files (or similar storage) your browser keeps for a site. We use them so DoshHero can work.
Essential (needed for the site)
- Sign-in / session, so you stay logged in and the member area loads for you
- Security: basics that help protect accounts and the site
Without these, login and the app won’t work properly.
Preferences (when we use them)
Things like remembering a simple UI choice. We’ll only use these where they help the product.
Analytics (if / when turned on)
We may use privacy-conscious analytics to see which public pages get visited (e.g. Learn) so we know what to improve. That can use cookies or similar. We’ll update this page if we add a named analytics tool.
Advertising (not on yet. Planned later)
We may show ads on public pages only (for example Learn), never in the member area (budget, net worth, dashboard). If we use Google AdSense or similar:
- Those partners may set cookies or use similar tech to show and measure ads
- We’ll update this policy with partner names and links to their privacy info before ads go live
- You can usually manage ad personalisation via your browser settings and Google’s ad settings
Until ads are live, we are not using AdSense cookies on doshhero.com.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may break login. For third-party ads later, use browser controls and the ad network’s opt-out tools.
How we use info
- Run your account, budget, and net worth tools
- Send verify / welcome emails and Dosh Drop (with unsubscribe)
- Keep the site secure and working
- Improve Learn and product (aggregated / product analytics, not selling your personal money story)
- Reply when you contact us
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share with
Only what’s needed to run the product, for example:
- Hosting (Vercel)
- Email / newsletter (Beehiiv for Dosh Drop)
- Future ad partners on public pages only, if/when ads go live. Disclosed here first
We may also share if the law requires it, or to protect DoshHero and our members from abuse or fraud.
How long we keep it
Account and budgeting data while your account exists. Delete the account and we remove that data as described on the delete confirm step. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe (and per our email provider’s normal handling). Logs: only as long as needed for security and operations.
Kids
You need to be 13 or over to have an account (same as Terms).
Your choices
- Update profile fields in Account
- Delete your account in Account (permanent)
- Unsubscribe from Dosh Drop on any email
- Email us via Contact about privacy questions
- Control cookies in your browser
Changes
If we change this page in a meaningful way (especially cookies or ads), we’ll update the “Last updated” date here. For big changes we may also note it in product or email where it makes sense.
